At Home with the Shao Family

I’ve known and have worked with the Shao family for years—Anh and I met and collaborated in our early 20s when she was a fashion blogger in Philadelphia and my career was just beginning. I’ve had the privilege of documenting her pregnancies, babies, and the evolution of their family throughout the years. After so many sessions together, they don’t skip a beat when I enter their home—I’m able to seamlessly document the energy and flow of how they naturally are together. It’s a beautiful thing. This particular shoot was just after they’d moved into their dream home. Anh wanted to capture the chaos and beauty of empty rooms, boxes, and the kids in their new environment. Her sister and mom were staying for a few weeks, and it was a joy to see the larger family at play.
