Raquel and Elijah

Raquel and Elijah were married on a perfect May day at the Petersell 1808 Farm just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Both art directors with specific visions and huge, tight-knit families, this day was filled with so much beauty and absolutely spilling over with love. Raquel and Elijah made nearly everything themselves—from the programs and their altar backdrop to wooden candle holders and custom wine bottle labels. Raquel’s getting-ready suite was beautiful chaos—filled with laughter and friends and family pitching in to prepare for the day, and seemingly endless nieces and nephews swirling about. The blending of Raquel’s Armenian background and Elijah’s Pennsylvania Dutch heritage made for a moving ceremony rooted in their shared faith and love for one another, and for some incredible dance floor moments thanks to a live Armenian band that had everyone on their feet for hours. Truly one for the books and an honor to have been the one to document it! Shot on a mix of 35mm film and digital.
